New Suspected ISA Outbreak in Aysen Region

CHILE - Sernapesca has reported a new suspected case of Infectious Salmon Anaemia (ISA) virus on a farm in central Ballena 1, southern Aysen region.

The farm is owned by Salmones Cupquelan SA.

The HPR3 variant of the virus was detected on the farm.

As a preventative measure, movement restrictions have been applied and Sernapesca is performing surveillance inspections in the affected area.

Sernapesca confirmed an outbreak of ISA in the Aysen region at the start of March. It is not yet known if the cases are connected.
