Katoi hatchery wraps up pink salmon egg count

CANADA - Kitoi Bay Hatchery workers collected eggs and milt from mature pink salmon on the last day of the egg-take Tuesday. Mature pink salmon return to Kitoi Bay, where they originated. Some are fished and sold to local canneries and some are used to supply eggs for future stock. This year the egg-take began Sept. 2.
