Indonesia Teams Up with Malaysia on Fish

GENERAL - Malaysia and Indonesia will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen bilateral relations in the fisheries industry.

Malaysian Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Datuk Mustapa Mohamed said that he would be visiting the largest shrimp farm in the world, located in the province of Lampung, which provided employment to more than 11,000 workers.

According to Bernama.com, Indonesia had also agreed to cooperate in this field and Malaysia would send people to study at the shrimp farm aimed at capacity building in aquaculture, he said.

The news organisation says that Mustapa is on a seven-day visit to Indonesia to look at various agricultural projects that had been highly successful in Lampung in Sumatera, as well as Central and East Java.
