Mr Urquizo said that the principles of socially equitable and environmentally sustainable fisheries, should serve as guidlines for responsible fishing, reports Andina.
"It is also necessary to prioritise the value of food security by highlighting the enormous significance that the fishery has in this area," he said in regard to Responsible Fisheries.
He also stated that it is necessary to address the issue on the promotion and development of the artisanal fishery, regulating accurately its characteristics, scope and objectives.
Fisheries Act Studied to Ensure Good Management
PERU - Minister Jose Urquizo, considered it necessary to review the current General Fisheries Act, in order to promote a new standard to ensure that development preserves fishing resources.
