Fish farm impact raised

AUSTRALIA - The Marine and Coastal Community Network (SA) is calling for more sustainable aquaculture processes in the wake of the trawler Veronica's interest in Great Australian Bight fish stocks. Network coordinator Tony Flaherty points to a new United Kingdom study on the impact of global aquaculture's demand for fishmeal and industrial fisheries, including implications for seabirds and marine ecosystems through the depletion of fish stocks.
