The Inquiry into the Future of Fisheries (IFM) was set up by the Scottish Government to look into the running of Scotland's fishing fleets. As part of its contribution to the process, WWF Scotland called for all our fisheries to be sustainable.
Speaking ahead of the event, Dr Mireille Thom, Marine Policy Officer at WWF Scotland said: "Much work has been done to improve fisheries management in Scotland in the last few years but a lot more still needs to be done. We believe that the report of the inquiry panel will make a substantial and valuable contribution in identifying the best way ahead to sustainable fisheries and coastal communities in Scotland."
