Cod genomics research project gets $350,000 more funding

CANADA - The government of Newfoundland and Labrador says it is contributing $350,000 to a Genome Atlantic research project designed to enhance the commercial viability of the cod aquaculture industry in Atlantic Canada.</b> <br><br> Led by Jane Symonds, of the Huntsman Marine Science Centre and Sharen Bowman, of Genome Atlantic, the $18-million Atlantic cod genomics and broodstock development project will identify and select elite broodstock through the application of selective breeding and genomics. <br><br> <i>Source: LabCanada</i>
