Workshop for prawn farmers

FUJI - Creating awareness on the mechanisms of freshwater prawn farming for commercial purposes was the aim of a workshop held in Suva on Wednesday.</b> <br><br> The workshop at the University of the South Pacific focused on how participants who were from various backgrounds could broaden their knowledge on freshwater aquaculture. <br><br> &quot;The main purpose of the workshop is to tell people that freshwater prawn farming is a possible business livelihood opportunity,&quot; said the Institute of Marine Resources director at USP, Kenneth MacKay. <br><br> Mr MacKay said the workshop was initiated after they felt people were eager to learn more about prawn farming. <br><br> <i>Source: Fuji Times Online</i>
