AUSTRALIA - Western Kingfish, a struggling Australian aquaculture operation has seen new interest in the restructuring of its company.

The company was placed into voluntary administration last month after a mystery bacteria killed 70 per cent of fish stocks at its Jurien Bay farm, reports ABCNews.

According to the news organisation, Ferrier Hodgson's Andrew Saker says mortality rates at the farm have dropped significantly since the bacteria was identified and addressed.

He says there has been surprisingly strong interest from a number of interested parties.

"I think it is encouraging for the business, the employees and shareholders at this stage," he said.
