New Factory for Salmon Producer

Salmonids Post-harvest +1 more

AUSTRALIA - Tasmanian salmon producer Huon Aquaculture is to move its factory to the north west of the state.

The company is to move to Parramatta Creek, near Latrobe, replacing its plants at Port Huon in the south and at Strahan on the west coas, according to a report on ABC.

The move will help the company expand production.

Director Peter Bender says the company is also planning to relocate its South Australia-based salmon smoking operation, the report says.

The move will bring about 80 more jobs to the region.
