Fisheries scientists fail to hook enough funding for technology

TASMANIA - Fisheries scientists say they are struggling to find the money they need to keep up to date with technology for their research.</b> <br><br> More than 300 scientists from around the world are in Hobart for the Australian Society for Fish Biology conference. <br><br> Professor Colin Buxton, from the Tasmanian Aquaculture and Fisheries Institute, says conference workshops have focused on new technology. <br><br> He says many delegates have highlighted the need for more funding to pay for this equipment. <br><br> &quot;Counting fish is a bit like counting trees, but they&#39;re invisible and they move around a lot,&quot; he said. <br><br> <i>Source: Abc Tasmania</i>
