This event is part of the programme on EU food import standards for third country products, and deals specifically with fishery and aquaculture products. Participants are mainly staff of official competent authorities of Francophone African countries responsible for verifying that exports to the EU comply with EU safety standards.
The EU has comprehensive legislation to ensure the safety of food imports. Developing country products must comply with the standards set by this legislation in order to access the EU market. For this, effective safety controls in developing countries are vital. This workshop should broaden participants’ knowledge of EU import standards for fishery products, thereby better enabling them to check for compliance.
