South Australian Seafood Company Australian Bight Abalone (ABA) is cultivating its trade links in China. It will harvest about 100 tonnes of greenlip abalone ahead of new year celebrations and the Olympics in August.
According to news service the age.com, stock will be harvested from ABA's aquaculture leases near Elliston on South Australia's Eyre Peninsula and the outlook for the first harvest is very positive.
"The strong demand from overseas markets and the high prices being paid for greenlip abalone are very positive for our organisation," said ABA chief executive Andrew Ferguson.
