Research centre to focus on inland aquaculture
AUSTRALIA - A new research centre is being opened in the Riverland today which the South Australian Government hopes will be the first step in developing an inland aquaculture industry.
The state and federal governments have put $2 million into the project at Waikerie to use water drawn from salt interception schemes to farm mulloway.
The project will try to attract business investment, with the aim of having a $20 million a year aquaculture industry by 2013.
