Prawn fishermen devising plan to fight cheap imports

ADELAIDE - Australia's prawn fishermen are meeting in Adelaide today to draw up battle plans to safeguard their industry against a flood of cheap imports.

Around 15,000 tonnes of prawns are imported each year, just 5,000 tonnes less than Australia's domestic production.

Stephen Hood from the Australian Council of Prawn Fisheries says the industry is fighting for survival.
