Ta Quang Khanh, head of the SBV Credit Department, said that from this source of capital An Giang and Dong Thap provinces will be provided with 200 billion VND each, and the six remaining provinces, with 100 billion VND each.
The move follows Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai’s instruction at an online conference held on June 1 to resolve difficulties in production and sales of tra and basa catfish in the eight Mekong Delta provinces.
To be eligible for the loans, businesses are required to have healthy finance, profitable operations and stable outlets.
The SVB has also asked the Bank for Foreign Trade and the Industrial and Commercial Bank to consider capital supply for the processors.
Commercial banks are requested to consider extension of datelines for debts and new loans for tra and basa catfish farming households.
Tra and basa catfish processors and exporters currently need about 4.2 trillion VND, according to the department for agro-forest-fishery product processing of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
