Innovators have featured prominently on The Fish Site
this week and we were particularly intrigued by Juan Trigo’s ambition to use a secret species of filter-feeding invertebrate to hoover up parasites from salmon farms. Without more details it’s too early to assess the project’s chance of success – but it’s a concept that both farmers and investors should keep on their radars.
Those considering investing in either aquaculture or alternative seafood would also be wise to tune in to Hatch’s Demo Day. The day will feature eight startups that – after four months of Hatch’s accelerator programme – will be pitching to an audience of investors, many for the first time. Part live, part film format, The Fish Site was very impressed with a sneak preview and highly recommends registering here for the chance to hear from a brand new batch of aquatic innovators at 4pm GMT tomorrow.
