Undergraduate Certificate: Introduction

You should apply if you:

Do not have a degree in a biological subject but wish to study sustainable aquaculture


wish to move into or develop a career in the aquaculture industry but have no previous relevant qualifications

and / or

are working in the aquaculture industry and wish to obtain a professional qualification to help progress your career or enable you to study the Postgraduate Diploma/MSc

Entry Requirements:

Prior to admission to study in the Faculty of Science, a student must have gained SQA Standard Grade (1 or 2) or GCSE (A or B) or equivalent in English and Mathematics along with at least two Highers (H) or at least one GCE A level, or equivalent, in the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Computing, Geography (or Geology), Mathematics, Physics, Psychology.

For applicants taking the International Baccalaureate the requirement is: at least Standard IB Level in: Mathematics and English. A Higher IB Level pass is required in at least two of the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geography (or Geology), Mathematics or Physics.

In line with the University's drive to widen access, additional evidence of relevant professional experiential learning (RPEL) may be taken into account for entry.
