Administrators for the U.S. soybean checkoff saw the long-term potential in aquaculture and invested funds to develop methods to increase inclusion of soy in many fish diets.

First New Waterborne Aquaculture Drug in 20 Years Approved
US - Twelve years of rigorous research by USGS scientists helped lead to the approval by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the first waterborne drug for fish diseases in more than 20 years.

Delay in anti-dumping case haunts shrimp exporters
US - The anti-dumping duty case took a new twist, creating panic among shrimp exporters, with Louisiana Shrimp Association (LSA), another US shrimp producers’ body, filing a petition with the US Department of Commerce (DoC) against the Indian exporters.

Schering-Plough Aquaculture NETHERLANDS - American based company Schering-Plough has announced it is to acquire the Dutch veterinary company Intervet as part of its buy out of Organon BioSciences, the pharmaceutical division of chemical company Akzo Nobel.
