EU project offers herbal therapy to farmyard animals
Natural alternatives to growth-promoting antibiotics in livestock feed may soon be on the menu for pigs, poultry and fish in Europe, thanks to research conducted by REPLACE, an EU-funded project.

Total catfish feed delivered in the United States during April 2007 was 42,965 tons, down 21 percent from April 2006, but up 5 percent from the previous month.

Nutreco Holding N.V. announced today that it has signed an agreement to acquire Canada's leading animal nutrition business from Maple Leaf Foods Inc. The purchase price for this acquisition is CAD 500 million (EUR 330 million). The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2007.
